Personal Data Processing Policy

INKDRIFT PUBLISHING SAS (InkDrift Publishing S.A.S.), Colombian tax ID (NIT) 901.974.304-1, with its address at Calle 91 #16-16, Buzón #1, Bogotá D.C., Colombia (hereinafter, InkDrift Publishing or the publishing house), is the controller of the personal data described in this policy, in accordance with Ley 1581 de 2012,Decreto 1377 de 2013 and the regulations that implement or replace them.

1. Data we collect

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address, the language in which you prefer to receive it (Spanish, English or Brazilian Portuguese) and the record of your authorization. We do not ask for your name, phone number or purchase details. We do not intentionally collect sensitive data or data from minors. The website's hosting provider may process technical data needed to deliver and protect the site.

2. Purpose

We use your email address and language preference to send you editorial news, reading suggestions and book releases from InkDrift. Buying or ordering a book does not subscribe you to the newsletter. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for purposes other than those described here.

3. How we obtain your authorization

The form asks you to tick an authorization box, which is never pre-ticked. You will then receive an email to confirm your subscription: until you confirm, you are not subscribed.

4. Who processes your data and where

The newsletter is managed with Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which acts as a processor on behalf of InkDrift: it stores the list data and sends the emails following our instructions. Brevo hosts the data on servers located in the European Union (France, Germany and Belgium) and uses sub-processors, some outside the European Union, with the contractual safeguards described in its data processing agreement.

5. Retention

We keep your data while you remain subscribed. Requests that are not confirmed are deleted at the first monthly review after 30 days from the request. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address, the unsubscription date and the proof of your authorization, so that we do not write to you again, for as long as the list exists. Proof of your authorization is kept while the contact exists.

6. Unsubscribing and erasure

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, without logging in. Unsubscribing stops all InkDrift update emails. If you also want us to erase your data, write to us (section 8): we will delete your contact entirely and let you know that, without that record, we cannot prevent a new email if you subscribe again or if your data reaches us again by other means.

7. Your rights

As the owner of your personal data, you have the right to:

8. How to exercise your rights

Write to derechos@inkdriftpublishing.com stating your request. We will reply within the legal time limits (generally ten business days for enquiries and fifteen business days for complaints).

9. Cookies, scripts and email tracking

The site does not set its own cookies or use analytics tools. Pages that show the sign-up form load Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes data such as your IP address and browser characteristics to tell people from automated programs. When you submit the form, its data passes through InkDrift's server on Cloudflare to validate the request and, if accepted, is sent to Brevo. Brevo may record the delivery of our emails and whether they are opened or their links are clicked.
